Single visits: one session, no membership
Open gym (90 minutes on your own)
Open-gym slots run every day except Wednesday, in fixed 90-minute blocks. The first slot starts at 5:30, and the last one runs from 19:00 to 20:30. Each slot takes up to 5 visitors, and a members' class may be running in the gym at the same time. Buy the "Visitor Open Gym" ticket (ビジターオープンジム) and book a slot. If the time you want overlaps two slots, message us on Instagram before booking and we'll help you choose.
Bookings are usually required, but 7:30–15:00 (closed Wed) our staff are at IKOI STAND (reception) on the ground floor — so feel free to just drop in! Before a private hire, you can train until it starts. The price (¥4,500), the 90-minute limit and limited equipment while a class is running are the same as with a booking. Each visitor pays individually.
The crowd page shows how many people have booked each slot (classes and visitors together), updated about once an hour. Walk-in visitors aren't counted.
Coached small-group class
New to this kind of training, or just want someone else to plan the workout? Join a class instead. Classes are capped at 6 people and run by a coach. The "Visitor Semi-Personal" ticket (ビジターセミパーソナル) covers the coached group classes open to visitors; before you buy, check that this is the ticket shown for the class you picked. NOSUKE classes need a separate ticket and are for experienced participants. If you're new, we recommend a HYROX Light class (HYROXライト).
What's in the gym
A sled, SkiErg, Concept2 RowErg and BikeErg, wall balls, sandbags (10 to 30 kg) and kettlebells (16, 24 and 32 kg). We're an official HYROX TRAINING CLUB. There are showers, a changing room and an area to freshen up after training. Our HYROX training page (in Japanese) has photos of the equipment.
Private hire: the whole gym for your group
If you'd rather have the place to yourselves, you can hire the whole gym. It works well for a team training session, a group of friends, a company or club event, or a full run-through before a race.
- Price: ¥15,000 per hour, tax included, booked in 1-hour blocks. Existing confirmed bookings keep the rate we agreed with you.
- Group size: up to 10 people in the gym, including the organizer. You don't need to be a member.
- Days: if you want to run a class or lesson, private hire is on Wednesdays only, our regular closing day. For an event, other days may be possible. Tell us the date and what you have in mind, and we'll get back to you.
- What's included: the gym and its equipment. Coaching isn't included.
- How to book: send us a message on LINE or Instagram (English is fine on Instagram). Private hire can't be booked on the booking site.
- Payment: we bill you through our booking system. If you haven't used it before, please create an account there. Everyone in your group also needs to register on the booking site before the day.
- Cancellation: 3 or more days before, you get a full refund or can move to another date. From 2 days before up to the day before, there's no refund, but you can move the date once. On the day itself, there's no refund and no date change.
- Insurance: we recommend that the organizer has liability insurance. It's optional.
During your private hire, the schedule shows it as 貸切クラス (private hire), and the open gym isn't available to anyone else. The organizer's QR code opens the door for that time. Private-hire slots can't be booked with a visitor ticket; they're reserved for the organizer and their participants, who may include non-members.
We also ask groups to:
- arrive and leave within the time you booked
- put the equipment back where you found it, and keep it indoors on rainy days
- take your rubbish home with you
- switch off the lights, air conditioning and TV, and lock the door when you leave
- leave the HYROX name and logo out of any posts or flyers for your session
Before the first hire, the organizer fills in 貸切ご利用の約束(主催の方), a short agreement form, on the booking site. After every hire, the organizer fills in 貸切 終了チェック(戸締り・掃除), the end-of-session checklist. You need to log in to the booking site for both.
What to bring
- Workout clothes and training shoes
- A towel, or rent one for ¥300
- If you booked: your phone, already logged in to the booking site, to show your QR code at the door. Walking in without a booking? You don't need it — just check in at IKOI STAND (reception) when you arrive
How to book a single visit, step by step
The booking site runs on a Japanese system called hacomono, and there's no English version. Our English booking guide has real screenshots with numbered marks, the Japanese button names next to their English meaning, and a katakana helper for your name. The short version:
- Check the crowd page and pick a quiet slot or a class.
- Open the booking site, choose your open-gym slot or class, and tap チケットを購入して予約する ("Buy a ticket and book").
- Create a free account. A face photo is required. Your name in katakana, postcode and address are optional, and an overseas phone number is fine.
- Pay by card and confirm the booking. Booking deadlines vary by class, and some classes close at 21:00 the night before, so it's best to book a day ahead.
- On the day, open the entrance door with your QR code. It works from 30 minutes before your start time.
Rules for drop-in visits
- Walk-ins welcome while staff are here. Bookings are usually required, but 7:30–15:00 (closed Wed) our staff are at IKOI STAND (reception) on the ground floor — so feel free to just drop in! When you arrive, please check in at IKOI STAND first and pay there (last check-in 15:00, 90 minutes). Classes can get busy, so check today's crowd level before you come: wellknotosaka.jp/crowd. At other times there are no staff, so please book online. Not available during private hire or on days IKOI STAND is closed (see our daily Instagram story). Before a private hire, you can train until it starts. Staff aren't always on site, especially early in the morning, so at other times you get in with the QR code from your booking.
- One ticket per person. One QR code lets in one person. If two or more people come in on one code, each person is charged. Coming in without paying is also charged.
- The Visitor Open Gym ticket is valid for one month from purchase. For other tickets, check the validity shown before you buy.
- Drop-in bookings can be cancelled up to 2 hours before the start. Private hire follows its own cancellation policy, shown above.
- Closed on Wednesdays. There are no open-gym slots or visitor classes that day.
FAQ
Can tourists and short-term visitors use the gym?
Yes. You don't need a membership, a Japanese address or a Japanese phone number. Open gym: Bookings are usually required, but 7:30–15:00 (closed Wed) our staff are at IKOI STAND (reception) on the ground floor — so feel free to just drop in! No Japanese needed: at IKOI STAND, just say "Gym, please" or show the staff ジムを使いたいです(予約なし), pay ¥4,500 (cash, credit card or QR payment) and we'll open the gym for you. Walk-in guide: wellknotosaka.jp/en#walk-in When you book, you pay ¥4,500 online and come in with your QR code.
Is this an all-day gym pass?
No. The ¥4,500 open-gym ticket covers one 90-minute visit, and the class ticket covers one coached class. If you want to train again, book another slot.
Is there English support?
The booking site is Japanese only, so start with our English booking guide. If you get stuck, message us in English on Instagram.
Can I bring friends?
Yes. If you book, each person needs their own account, ticket and booking. If you walk in during the staffed hours (open gym only), each visitor pays individually at IKOI STAND (reception). If you're a group of up to 10 and want the gym to yourselves, private hire may suit you better.
Can I use the shower after a run around Osaka Castle?
Showers are for people using the gym. Shower-only use ended on 20 September 2026, so you'll need an open-gym slot or a class booking.
What are your opening hours?
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to Sunday, 5:00 to 21:00, weekends included. We're closed on Wednesdays. The first open-gym slot starts at 5:30, and the last one ends at 20:30.
Can I train for a HYROX race here?
Yes. The sled, SkiErg, RowErg, wall balls, sandbags and kettlebells are all here, along with a BikeErg for extra conditioning. If you haven't trained for a race before, book a coached class (HYROX Light if you're new) rather than open gym. Our guide HYROX training in Osaka as a drop-in visitor covers the equipment and the quietest times to come.
